I finally tackled the Kiss Cabinet over the Xmas break. The cabinet had been stripped down with a rough circular sander, and the metal was all painted with silver paint. I stripped the rails first and cleaned them and resanded the whole thing.
I used Homehardware kitchen and bath white, found a rust paint at C Tire that was pretty close to Allys Chambers Orange and used Krylon black. The backing on the stencils was very sticky. Maybe they were so old, but I decided to cut them up during the black layer, which made it much easier.
After all the painting, I went over it and fixed up minor bleed and whatever else. I then gave it one coat of gloss varathane for protection and to make the shine uniform.
I am happy with it. I have to polish the metal next.
